Gateway Center Offers In-House Mercy Care Clinic

by Debi Starnes, Atlanta
Even as the busy owner of a research company and a bed and breakfast in Atlanta, Georgia, Debi Starnes recently completed the Great Loop, a journey through the waterways across much of the eastern half of the United States. Debi Starnes also serves her community through her role on the board of the Gateway Center, an organization devoted to ending homelessness.
In 2013, the Gateway Center cared for 7,000 metro Atlanta citizens through therapeutic programs and community services. In addition to providing 330 beds, the center offers employment training, an addiction recovery program, and medical care through the in-house Mercy Care Clinic.
Open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Wednesday, the clinic offers medical care to visitors of the Gateway Center. Clinic passes must be obtained from the lobby front desk to receive care. The pass gives people access to behavioral health, screening services, and primary care for a wide range of conditions.
